Privacy policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit readunsung.com or buy UNSUNG.

Visiting this website

This website doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking cookies, and it only asks for your email address if you want the free chapter. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

To see which parts of the page are useful, we count anonymous events: page views, how far down the page visitors scroll, and which buttons they use. Each count records only the country, the type of device and the network provider. We don't store IP addresses, nothing is saved on your device, and the counts can't be linked to you.

Buying the book

When you buy UNSUNG, your order is handled by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Gumroad collects the details needed to take your payment, deliver your download and meet tax rules, under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and order details so we can support your purchase. We never see your full card details.

When an order is completed, Gumroad also notifies this website that a sale happened, so we can count sales next to the anonymous page counts described above. For each sale this website keeps the product, the price and the country. If you agreed at checkout that we may contact you, it also keeps your email address so we can tell you about new stories and editions. It never stores your name or payment details.

The free chapter

To read chapter 1 free, you give us your email address. We use it only to tell you about new stories and new editions such as a printed book. We send a few emails, never spam, and we never sell or share your address. To stop them, reply "stop" to any email or write to contact@readunsung.com, and we'll delete your address.

Sharing a story

If you tell us about a veteran in your family through the form on our home page, we keep what you write, the veteran's details, your name if you give it, and your email address. We only feature a story in our videos or on this website if you ticked the box allowing it, and we credit it the way you chose. We may shorten a story for length. We use your email to tell you if your story is featured and, now and then, about new stories; reply "stop" to end those emails. To have your story or your address deleted, write to contact@readunsung.com.

Emailing us

If you email us, we use your address only to reply to you. We don't sell or share your information with anyone.

Your choices

To ask what information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email contact@readunsung.com.
